Union of Football Players in Russia is on the insurance pitch.

Russia’s National team players ask to defend players from disability.

The Union made the appeal addressed to the Russian football premier-league (RFPL) signed by 19 national team players. In this appeal the Union insists on introducing the compulsory insurance for the players into the regulations of the RFPL. The football players, who signed this appeal, as a matter of fact, protect the rights of less known and less wealthy colleagues. In Premier league it was promised to examine this point as soon as possible and the main Russian insurance company, ‘Rosgosstrah’, informed that the negotiations on this matter are taking place.

In this letter the players draw the RFPL management’s attention to the fact that in Russian football there is still no system of the player’s compulsory insurance. ‘We offer to insure all players, who take part in Russian championship, in case they get a serious injury or total loss of ability to work. For that RFPL has to spend 1.5% from this season’s income” – says the letter.

The chairman of the Russian union of football players and coaches also agrees that the insurance will not cost clubs a lot. ‘We are talking about small sums of money. The insurance cost for single football player will not be more than 1.000 US Dollars a year” – says Mr. Leonchenko.
 
There were a lot of matters, according to the Union representatives, when football players suffered because it was unprofitable for the football clubs to provide their medical treatment.

In RFPL it was recognized that this matter is very important. ‘Premier-league wants it’s players to feel safe in case of a serious injury.  We are planning to examine this subject on the nearest RFPL members committee” – said the President of RFPL Sergey Pryadkin.
