FIFPro delegation visits Russian Football Association

A FIFPro delegation consisting of Tony Higgins, Wil van Megen and Frederique Winia visited last week the general director of the RFU, Alexei Sorokin and Nikolay Tolstikh, President of the Dispute Resolution Chamber of Russia.

The FIFPro delegation had a long discussion with the representatives of the Russian Union of Football Players and Coaches on setting up a National DRC for Russia, which had already been approved in the new FIFA Regulations.

In order to modernise social relations within football between clubs and players and between employers and employees, FIFA had drafted the Standard National Dispute Resolution Chamber Regulations for creating national DRC’s along the lines of the principles of FIFA principles Dispute Resolution Chamber and, in particular, the principle of equal representation of players and clubs.

It was agreed that the representatives of the Russian Union of Football Players and Coaches will go over the new Regulations together with the Football Union of Russia, and will prepare the formation of the NDRC. By the end of October the results will be discussed at a meeting in Zurich between FIFA and FIFPro.
