Russian Football Players raised the Union’s flag.
On the February 11-th 2009 during the Congress of the Football Union of Russia in Moscow the representatives of the Union of Football Players and Coaches of Russia (Chairman &Executive Director – Vladimir Leonchenko and General Secretary – Nikolai Grammatikov) presented the Union’s flag to Mr. Mutko (President of FUR), signed by the top Russian football players.
The flag contains the following player’s requirements:
1. Independent arbitration
2. Solidarity mechanism, with payments from each player’s transfer to the football school.
3. Player’s representation in the FUR Executive Committee.
4. Minimal monthly salary after the age of 17.
5. Compulsory insurance covered by their employers.
6. Unlimited free agent status after the contract expiration.
7. Signing of the collective bargain agreement.
All players of the Russian National Team signed the flag while they were in the training camp in Turkey (08.02-12.02).
On Sunday evening Roman Pavluchenko, who is playing in the FC ‘Tottenham’ also signed the flag and will pass in to Andrey Arshavin in London, who has just recently moved from FC ‘Zenit’ to FC ‘Arsenal’.
FUR’s President Mr. Mutko and Union’s executive director Mr. Leonchenko made an arrangement to meet and discuss the Union’s proposal in the short terms.
Meanwhile the Union’s flag lead the negative reaction of the FUR Vice-President, who is in the same time the President of the Professional Football League Mr. Tolstih. The reason for this is that the Union considers impossible for Mr. Tolstih to combine two positions: the President of PFL and the Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Chamber.
